Apple Unveils Its New iPod Line!

Apple launched its new iPod line just yesterday to crowds on anticipating fans. Their new line saw the release of the new model: the iPod Touch. The iPod Touch features a gorgeous 3.5 inch widescreen display, touch screen controls, and comes in 8GB and 16GB flavours priced at $419 and $549 respectively.

The older models, namely the Shuffle, the Nano and iPod Classic also got revamped. The iPod Shuffle still looks the same, except it sports new colours in its range and has had a price cut from $119 to $99 now.

The new iPod Nano looks similar to its predecessor - just a squatter version. The dimensions have been squished somewhat in efforts to reduce the length in comparison to the older models and also to accommodate a new wide screen display. The new iPod Nanos are available in 4GB and 8GB varieties in a range of new colours at $199 and $279 respectively.

Similarly, the iPod Video has had an update and now shares its sleek, shiny looks with its tiny twin, the iPod Nano. The new iPod is now called the iPod Classic, and is available in 80GB and a whopping 160GB version! No need to leave any of your collection at home folks, coz the new iPod Classic can pretty much hold anything you throw at it. The prices aren't too unreasonable either... Apple is asking $349 for the 80GB version and $479 for the 160GB version. Back when the iPod Video was first released, an 80GB iPod set you back $499! It's good to see Apple finally dropping their prices, though I suspect it's more to do with keeping a competitive edge rather than any goodwill on Apple's part.

Visit the Apple Store Australia to pick up one of these shiny new gadgets, or for more information.
