Apple Unveils Its New iPod Line!

Apple launched its new iPod line just yesterday to crowds on anticipating fans. Their new line saw the release of the new model: the iPod Touch. The iPod Touch features a gorgeous 3.5 inch widescreen display, touch screen controls, and comes in 8GB and 16GB flavours priced at $419 and $549 respectively.

The older models, namely the Shuffle, the Nano and iPod Classic also got revamped. The iPod Shuffle still looks the same, except it sports new colours in its range and has had a price cut from $119 to $99 now.

The new iPod Nano looks similar to its predecessor - just a squatter version. The dimensions have been squished somewhat in efforts to reduce the length in comparison to the older models and also to accommodate a new wide screen display. The new iPod Nanos are available in 4GB and 8GB varieties in a range of new colours at $199 and $279 respectively.

Similarly, the iPod Video has had an update and now shares its sleek, shiny looks with its tiny twin, the iPod Nano. The new iPod is now called the iPod Classic, and is available in 80GB and a whopping 160GB version! No need to leave any of your collection at home folks, coz the new iPod Classic can pretty much hold anything you throw at it. The prices aren't too unreasonable either... Apple is asking $349 for the 80GB version and $479 for the 160GB version. Back when the iPod Video was first released, an 80GB iPod set you back $499! It's good to see Apple finally dropping their prices, though I suspect it's more to do with keeping a competitive edge rather than any goodwill on Apple's part.

Visit the Apple Store Australia to pick up one of these shiny new gadgets, or for more information.

Jay Jays 1UP Mushroom Tees!

You may remember a while back I did a post about Jay Jay's limited line of Nintendo gaming tees. Well, some new ones have come out and they look absolutely killer in a retro way so I had to snag me one!

I got the green shirt with the trademark Mario 1UP mushroom on it. I would prefer if the mushroom were a little smaller, but I guess you can't have everything!

If you had any doubts to the authenticity of this trade-marked tee, it even comes with an official Nintendo seal, so you can verify it if need be.

Though if you're that particular, I'd surmise that you're probably an anally pretentious bastard in your mid 50s using your personality as a contraceptive. You probably only own one fuddy duddy suit, a collection of polka dot ties and keep the hem of your pants suit a good 30cm off the ground. So, in any case, it's probably a good idea to get some new threads, so just shut the f*** up and buy em already, kay? You can thank me later...

Prepare For Armageddon!!!

Australia's taking its first steps into the world of pop culture with the coming of Melbourne's first fantasy and gaming event: the Armageddon Expo. The Armageddon Expo is showcasing all things 'pop culture' from video games, cartoons, comics, anime, wrestling and so on with some crazy stuff chucked in like a Dominoes pizza eating competition and pillow fights! Goddamn, there'll even be a Mattel toy sale there!!!

In addition to the line up events, a couple of pop culture celebrities will also be making an entrance. Adam West (the original Batman) will be there, along with Billy West (the voice behind Fry and Zoidberg from Futurama), Chris Rankin (who plays Percy Weasley from the Harry Potter films) and a couple of others.

The expo is being held in Melbourne at Exhibition Hall in Southbank just opposite Crown Casinos on the weekend of October the 13th and 14th. Single day passes and 2 day passes for this event can be bought from Ticketmaster. Single day pass costs $10 for a child and $16 for an adult, and 2 day passes can be had for $17 and $28 for children and adults respectively.

More information on the expo is available here.

I sense a brood coming on...

Had a brief obsession with Toyota chickens where I had to collect them all. At last count, I think I have 7 of them all up. But that phase is now truly gone and done with, because what did I see when browsing through my local Hobby Japan but this cute lil fella!

This cute Yoshi was available in a few of colours including the traditional green as well as baby blue, baby pink and yellow. I chose yellow because I think the Yoshi at the end of Tetris Attack was yellow, and he was one cool critter.

Anyway, in keeping with my rather imaginative naming skills, I've decided to call this one 'Yelloshi' because he's yellow and he's a Yoshi.

Wow. My lack of creativity stuns even me =/

Cool New Zelda Peripherals For The Wii!

Haven't finished Twilight Princess on the Wii yet because you've been bagged by how stupid you look fondling and waving a white stick around? Well then, the new Zelda peripherals for the Wii will have you looking a little stupid at least (still stupid, but slightly less stupid). YEE HA! These are so cool I might even bring them out in public as cosplay at the next game convention =]

ARGHHHHHH, it's ELMO!!!!!!!!!

If there's anything in this whole entire universe that can put the fear of God into me more than the sight (nay, even the THOUGHT) of Nikki Webster in a bikini, it's ELMO. Now I know that Elmo has hordes of fans (shockingly quite a fair few who aren't under 3 years of age) but I'm sorry Elmo - I just can't stand you, you ugly freaky bastard. I can't stand your freakishly evil eyes, or your sorry excuse for a nose or that wheedlingly high-pitched gaybo voice.

Nevertheless, lately Elmo products have been popping up faster than acne on a teeny bopper. I was happening to stroll through my local K-Mart when I got the shock of my life from none other than an ARMY of these freaky Elmo chairs:

Check out it's ugly super-deformed eyes and body, and that ridiculous clown's nose. It's PURE EVIL, I tells ya - PURE EVIIIIIIIIIL! I swear, it already looks ridiculous as he normally is, and it's just magnified tenfold in chair form. But the evilness doesn't just end at appearances. Ohhhhhhh no. It also giggles. AND shakes. INTERACTIVELY.

Honestly, can't you just FEEL THE EVIL emanating from this abomination, people? CAN'T YOU FEEL IT??!!?!?!

Mmmm.... Kitty Litter!

There's nothing quite as appetising as the smell and look of a fresh pan of kitty litter. Wouldn't it be nice instead of just smelling and seeing kitty litter, that you could also be able to TASTE it? (That is, without your stomach imploding and collapsing dead from drowning in your own vomit mere moments after.)

Well thank goodness for the wonders of modern day cooking! Now you can create your own KITTY LITTER CAKE! Why, the folks at Fabulous Foods have created a truly crazily original dish which also promises that you'll be licking your whiskers after eating it (so long as you keep your eyes shut throughout the whole process). Made from chocolate cake mix, vanilla instant pudding mix and tootsie rolls, it sure sounds a treat!
Now at least you'll have something to serve some pesky unwanted guests at the dinner table that'll have them out of your hands in a hurry. Or should I say paws...?

Check out the whole recipe at Fabulous Foods now! Absolutely perfect for crappy aspiring chef whose every dish looks like charcoal. You can stuff up this dish and it'll still look intentional - plus it'll taste great too! Is that not a win-win situation?? =p

P.S. If that was right up your alley, then their gelatin brain moulds also promise to be a lot of fun!
